The RAB82 is a three-fin surfboard that hasn’t forgotten its single fin roots. Roughly based on the type of Thruster Rabbit would have had in his quiver just after the transition to three-fin surfboards in 1981, the RAB82 is for high-performance, old-school inspired surfing. With a thicker rail foil than a contemporary shortboard, the RAB82 gives solid paddle power and lays down clean lines. Recommended fins are the Neal Purchase Jr. 2 + 1 set up—the center fin looks like a Thruster fin simply expanded overall by about 30%, and the effect is flowing turns, amazing drive and hold, and the freedom to shred that three-fin designs provide. A ”RAB80” is a six-channel single fin version.
Order
Turnaround time on custom orders is four- to six-weeks. A 50% deposit is required on each model base price listed on the website (clear, sand finish, fin boxes/no fins). Prices for color on custom orders vary from single-side airspray (approximately $85) to resin tint/cut-laps/inlays (approximately $140-$200 depending on board size and color-design complexity). Shaping happens at 500 Maple, Carpinteria, CA, 93013. Glassing and color work is by Golden State Glassing in Costa Mesa, CA. Golden State does pick up and delivery of finished boards weekly and handles shipping as well. Stock boards will be shipped within one week of ordering (packing and shipping fees vary based on destination and surfboard size).
