A pulled-in mid-length design, the Sexy Iggy is lean and mean like its namesake, Iggy Pop. Inspired by a board Australian shaper Josh Keogh shaped that paddles well and really drives down the line, the “Iggy” is for clean, pared-down surfing: wave riding brought to its essence. Primarily designed as a single fin, the board can also run as a 2 + 1. With a continuous rocker, the board turns well and the bottom contours include slight reverse vee (a light vee panel in the nose section) running to a slight concave ahead of the fin(s), and light vee out the tail. The rails are quite foiled and the 8’3” is approximately 2 ½” in thickness, the 8’8” and 9-foot range boards are 2 5/8” thick. These are “surfing boards” for a pure and simplified experience.
Order
Turnaround time on custom orders is four- to six-weeks. A 50% deposit is required on each model base price listed on the website (clear, sand finish, fin boxes/no fins). Prices for color on custom orders vary from single-side airspray (approximately $85) to resin tint/cut-laps/inlays (approximately $140-$200 depending on board size and color-design complexity). Shaping happens at 500 Maple, Carpinteria, CA, 93013. Glassing and color work is by Golden State Glassing in Costa Mesa, CA. Golden State does pick up and delivery of finished boards weekly and handles shipping as well. Stock boards will be shipped within one week of ordering (packing and shipping fees vary based on destination and surfboard size).
